Top review from Tschusikowsky:
"Our daily Guyana give us today...😋A very good Versailles and a good bottling. I did not know the marrow before. Dark, spicy, complex. It lacks a little punch for me and the finish is not long enough. But very tasty."

"As the name suggests, we are on a rum from Guyana distilled in 2004 on the historic Versailles Wooden Still at Diamond Distillery.Bottled specifically for the Milano Rum Festival 2018 at 272 bottles. So this is a 57% Single Cask 14 year old.It is a full bodied rum. It's a full bodied rum...very powerful, even a little too alcoholic for my taste. It is long in mouth with notes of bitter citrus fruits, spices (pepper-anise) and smoky-woody. Personally, I was not conquered, but it is very difficult to follow after the Explosive Hampden H tasted just before!"

Top review from Henry Davies:
"It’s a fairly full on brash rum. Versailles pot still rum, a bit rougher than the 12 year old age statement would suggest. Nose is ethanol and glue scented, with second layer of tropical fruit. Mouth is rough and woody with green pepper notes - palate is not to my tastes a bit too much paint stripper and not enough complexity. Finish is medium long with a hint of burn and alcoholic ester note. Overall it’s one to get out for those who like something with a bit of edge but just doesn’t do it for me"

"23rd day in the Christmas calendar. Blind! Not at all clearly classifiable. Not at all typical Versailles...Nose: very fruity, almost floral. Foremost I have juicy, sweet pear. Some honey and delicately ripe tangerine. There's still something buttery, like raw cookie dough with some vanilla. Dry woody at the back, a touch peppery and quite a bit of fresh mint.Palate: quite different. Dry, spicy and a bit fruity, maybe grape. Woody with light licorice and a slight citrus note. But overall quite flat and not very intense. Too bad, the nose was clearly better."

"In the nose right away spicy dry, when bumpy smell almost cocoa powder. Leather and woody. But also a hint of dried fruit. Also for this of honey comes through now. Something fresh like green apple comes through. On the palate yet rather sweet-bitter, woody-spicy, dark chocolate. Roasty. A peppery nutmeg spiciness that transitions into fermented tea leaves. In the finish it remains slightly bitter-spicy, gets a touch of anise.Makes mood 😊"
