How does this rum taste?
A robust, complex 9-year Demerara rum, the No. 21B EHP surprises with fresh, fruity notes on the nose and a tabacky, malty palate. However, it's considered a bit aggressive with underintegrated alcohol, hinting at a premature bottling.

“A very confusing rum which does not make in detail. The nose is however relatively soft and light with notes of dried fruits, spices, caramel, vanilla, nuts, coffee and chocolate. On the palate, we enter another dimension: if we manage to feel the yellow and tropical fruits, we feel mostly a discomfort because of the alcohol which is not very well integrated. It is pungent, very aggressive and difficult to bind in mouth. There's also some bitterness with the spice and leather, but it doesn't help to soften the overall profile. The finish is quite average in length, quite strong and warm, turned to spices, coffee and dried fruits. A rum difficult to tame, which could have spent a few more years in aging to be more digestible.”

“Also quite immature. Good beginnings on the nose, which can not keep up on the palate.”
