How does this rum taste?
The 2003 Diamond distillery rum is an exquisite blend of heavy sweetness, characteristic spices and subtly citrus notes. While complex and intense, its profundity beautifully balances the atypical markers. Its seemingly overplayed sweetness might be a surprise and is perfect for a blind tasting.

“Pleasing Diamond, heavy sweetness, spice, wood, some citrus notes - good release, though without the very big sophistication.”

“If I had not known better (but error excluded), I could have sworn stone and stone, this would be the parallel tasted SBS Diamond Versailles 2003 (Marsala finish, RX4341) because of a strongly perceptible sweet wine barrel. [In principle, nice rum, which you really do not notice its Guyana origin, but for me a tad too thickly applied sweetness. Ideal to lead someone on a blind tasting nicely on the ice. 🤣”
