“Agréablement surpris par ce Port Mourant plutôt élégant et aromatique. Le nez est fruité, avec des notes de melon notamment et associe des notes florales aux arômes plus sombres et épicés. Le bois n’a eu qu’une influence modérée malgré les années de vieillissement. La bouche est relevé par le profil plus « rustre » du Port Mourant, avec la réglisse, l’anis, le tabac, les saveurs terreuses, florales et végétales. En revanche, l’ensemble se veut assez gourmand grâce aux épices, au bois, au chocolat et aux fruits secs. L’alcool est bien intégré dans l’ensemble. La finale est de longueur correcte. Ce n’est qu’à ce moment que vient l’amertume typique de Port Mourant. Elle est toutefois assez discrète et se fond bien dans la masse des épices, des notes boisées et des fruits secs. Un Port Mourant fort sympathique qui ne tombe pas dans le piège des défauts communs de son alambic. En revanche, l’amertume se fait bien plus ressentir au niveau du prix, assez élevé malgré la qualité intrinsèque du rhum.”
