Velier Diamond & Port Mourant <SV>PM 1995 19yr 62,1%
The SV PM is an exquisite Guyanese rum produced at the Diamond & Port Mourant distillery and bottled by Velier. Distilled in 1995 from molasses using both pot and column stills, this rare beauty was aged for 19 years and boasts a potent 62.1% ABV. With a limited release of only 564 bottles, the SV PM offers a unique aroma of licorice, tobacco, barrel, green pepper, and citrus. On the palate, expect an incredible fusion of barrel, licorice, green pepper, anise, and tobacco. Our RumX users found this rum to be complex, rich in mouthfeel, and somewhat medicinal with a hint of smoke. Though it may require some time and a dash of water to fully appreciate its intricate nature, its wild character promises an unforgettable experience for rum connoisseurs.

“Ein wilder, komplexer Geselle, nicht sehr ausgewogen. Braucht viel Zeit und ein paar Tropfen Wasser. Hat die hohen Erwartungen bei weitem nicht erfüllen können. Beim zweiten mal Kosten überzeugt er mehr. Tolles öliges Mundgefühl, hochkomplex. Das Wollenhaben-Gefühl stellt sich aber trotzdem nicht ein.”

“Clear molasses on the nose and hints of smoke and medicin. In the mouth the smoke is more present, but in a good way (i am not into way to smoky stuff). It is medicinal, floral and mineral. After resting for a while it starts to come up with some fruity notes. The finish is quite long, but mostly smoke. The abv is well integrated, I would not have guessed 61,5%. But I miss some complexity and power”
