“This is powerful. Full black banana nose, sweet and pungent, slightly hot smelling. The first sip almost made me cough, an initial dark sweetness followed immediately by an almost overwhelming cinnamon spice and heat. The finish is long with char, chocolate and a bit of menthol. Bourbon-y. The alcohol makes a statement. After a while however, everything calms down a bit and fruity, pineapple notes make their way into both taste and finish. It’s not entirely balanced, there’s too much fury of spirit here, but I don’t think it’s meant to be. Challenging but delicious and rewarding. I would only serve this to the more intrepid of my companions.”
